Davies Homeless Shelters meet the critical need in Rome for a transitional shelter - a critical step beyond an emergency shelter that provides guests a safe environment and the tools to work toward stability. . They currently have 3 projects for which they are fundraising: continued improvements to the men’s shelter, finalizing their women & children shelter (opening this spring), and their South Meadows Farm & Farm Bus (new to 2019 as well). . The Shelters are growing, evolving projects that are in continuous need of funding to help the struggling individuals in Rome.🙏 . DIGS is a Rome based, 501(c)3 non- profit corporation that is focused around “Developing Independence Growth & Security for adults with developmental challenges”. . It began as a journey by several parents, grandparents and special educators who were concerned about the lack of services for adults with developmental disabilities. Our very own @chuckles_schroeder And his wonderful wife Suzanne are a couple of the founders! . They have focused their energy on not only finding employment for some of these adults but are striving to improve their social life and ultimately house them! They have already built a men’s home (pictured) and are now trying to build a women’s home! . Come out and support an incredible local organization near and dear to our hearts!
